About

A Brief history

The club was formed in 1972 in the Portland navy base HMS Osprey hence the name over time we have moved locations several times first to Weymouth Rugby club then to two different grounds of the Portland Young Offenders prison until finally ending up at our present location at Buckland Ripers.

Today

We have around 60 members some of whom belong to other clubs and we are a second club as we have facilities thier own club hasn’t. We hold three open shoots a year two NFAS field shoots and an AGB triple shoot and sometimes have hosted the NFAS Southwest Challenge and will this year be one of the clubs for the NFAS Wessex Week competition. We also hold a couple of club only shoots indoors and outdoors.
