A Brief history
The club was formed in 1972 in the Portland navy base HMS Osprey hence the name over time we have moved locations several times first to Weymouth Rugby club then to two different grounds of the Portland Young Offenders prison until finally ending up at our present location at Buckland Ripers.Today
We have now affiliated to NSRA which allows us to accept visitors that are either NFAS or AGB. We have around 100 members some of whom belong to other clubs and we are a second club as we have facilities their own club hasn’t. We hold two open shoots a year an NFAS field shoots and and two Triple shoots and in the past have hosted the NFAS Southwest Challenge and the NFAS Wessex Week competition. We also hold a couple of club only shoots indoors and outdoors.
